aug 9th - 16th
the schedule
On rising there will be Sunrise Meditation and Akhanda Yoga class
After breakfast and during the day there will opportunities for walks, excursions to the beach, desert and to just be.....
In the afternoon or early evening there will be a further meditation and Akhanda Yoga Practice.
On most evenings there will be Satsang/Kirtan/Lecture or an insight to another holistic practice.
During the first part of the week, there will be an opportunity to practice Shankprakshalana (a yogic salt cleanse) subject to interest and completion of a health questionnaire. If students are interested in this profound practice, it should be discussed before the retreat week as a certain amount of preparation is necessary in the preceeding days.
There will be many other detoxifying yoga/ayurvedic practices to learn during the retreat if Shankprakshalana proves to be unsuitable.
is this for you?
This is not a yoga holiday!
A retreat means taking time out, enjoying yoga practices to restore, renew and learn new techniques which can be incorporated into one's daily life.
There will also be no fasting! This is shocking to the body and to be effective needs several weeks' restful preparation. All too often the benefits are quickly lost when we return to our busy routines. This is not a realistic expectation. It is far better to learn some new practices which can change habits and have lasting effects on one's whole life.
Participants are expected to attend the classes as much as possible and immerse in the yogic lifestyle, to gain the maximum benefits intended by the teachers and organisers. This means avoiding alcohol, drugs (unless prescribed), smoking and eating meat.
If you come with an open heart to learn some traditional yet gentle and joyful practices to enhance your body, mind and spirit, then you will have a life-changing experience!
Chinmayi's energy, Akhanda Yoga's effectiveness and Casa Fidel's setting make this an excellent retreat. Space is limited so please book early to get inexpensive flights and to avoid disappointment!

the yoga venue
Casa Fidel is a beautiful property. It started life originally as a stable block and the original stones have been used in the renovation and re-building of this unique house.
